Angelina Jolie: No Meetup with Hillary Clinton Thu, 18-Jun-2009
It looks as if two popular women of the U.S. will no longer be meeting up with one another.
Hillary Clinton had to call off her meeting today with Angelina Jolie, just after breaking her elbow. The two were supposed to rally at a World Refugee Day event and present awards at the American Foreign Service Association.
Clinton’s chief of staff, Cheryl Mills, made a statement saying, “On the way to the White House late this afternoon, Secretary Clinton fell and suffered a right elbow fracture. She was treated at The George Washington University Hospital before heading home.”
The former first lady will have to undergo surgery next week. Jolie is still anticipated to attend the event and also to appear on CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360.
The Jolie-Pitt Foundation has donated $1 million to the U.N. refugee agency, providing aid to displace people in Pakistan.
