2009 Academy Awards: The Show, The Winners Mon, 23-Feb-2009
Bringing an end to the awards show season, the 2009 Acadmey Award winners were named at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday night (February 22).
During the course of the evening, Penelope Cruz became the first Spanish actress to pick up an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress while Kate Winslet was honored with the Best Lead Actress award.
Meanwhile, Sean Penn ended up being a surprise choice over Mickey Rourke for the top Male prize ahead of the announcement dubbing "Slumdog Millionaire" as the Best Picture of the year.
