Madonna: Close to Winning Adoption Case Wed, 10-Jun-2009
She’s been battling to adopt Malawian orphan Mercy James for quite some time, and now Madonna has been told she’ll most likely be allowed to do so.
According to a report, two appeal judges in the Malawi court system have signed off on Madge’s appeal, with a third judge set to do so as well.
And of course, the “Material Girl” songstress is “over the moon, ecstatic” about the news. After all, she’s been trying to bring Mercy home since earlier this year when her adoption petition was initially dismissed.
If and when the adoption goes through, Madonna will most likely not be coming to Malawi to pick up her new daughter, but rather a private plane will be sent to bring the girl to her.
